About the Councils

While the two authorities do not share a boundary, they share many characteristics. They have similar sized budgets, a commonality in economies and a similar approach to service design.

While retaining their local identities both councils wish to harness their combined capacity to help shape their communities now and in the future.

Brentwood Borough Council currently employs 254 staff and the current political administration is made up as follows:

  • Conservatives: 21
  • Liberal Democrats: 14
  • Labour: 2
